In keeping with the current international popular corresponding to two different series of steel pipe diameter: metric series (PN series), imperial series series (CLASS)
A series of imperial series, nominal size with the NPS identification, pipe diameter according to ASME B36. 10 m
B series for the metric series, nominal size with the DN identification, according to stipulations ISO4200 pipe diameter
为了与目前国际上流行的两个不同系列的钢管外径相适应:公制系列(PN系列),英制系列(CLASS系列)
A系列为英制系列,公称尺寸用NPS 标识，管子外径按ASME B36. 10M 的定
B系列为公制系列,公称尺寸用DN 标识，管子外径按ISO4200 的规定
For the nominal diameter of DN200 diameter: A series (British series) is 219.1, B series (metric series) of 219, of course, the difference was so small that can be ignored, but for other diameter difference can not be ignored:

A系列就是俗称的大外径系列，
B系列就是俗称的小外径系列

但可以看出A系列的大外径仅限于DN200以下，在DN300以上其直径反而小于公制管。
很多情况下两者差别是很大的：如DN100时差了6.3mm，大直径时差别达20mm以上
